Northend United v Coleraine Academy    Saturday 3rd February 2018

Saturday saw the Northend United sided paired up against Coleraine Academy on the 3G at the University. This game was a great advertisement for football with both teams playing some attractive football, playing out from the back with end to end action.

Coleraine took an early lead which was quickly levelled as Danny Hector rose unchallenged at the back post to head home a Sam Rogalski corner. The game flowed from end to end but Coleraine where to score the winner when a long-range shot deflected of a Northend player to go over the head of Andrei Smolinski in nets.

Man of the Match: Ryan O'Boyle, super performance in defence.

In only their second performance in the Harry Gregg Foundation small sided games, Northend Youth ran up a high-scoring draw with Ballycastle United. Shea Bartram was on target for the Blues with an impressive hat-trick of goals.

Special mention to the Northend Puma side who got a run out against Carniny at the Showgrounds in Ballymena in awful conditions.
